US Petroleum Imports Equal 10% of Consumption
"Biden administration does not 'have a strategic interest' in sanctioning Russian oil, White House says"
Americans consume approximately 338,000,000 (338 million) gallons of gasoline each day at, let’s say, $3.59 per gallon.
That’s $1,213,420,000 (a billion and a quarter about) paid out each day.
I’m not going to get into profit margins and all that. I’m sure you’ll get the point shortly.
10% of the petroleum and finished petroleum products imported into the United States comes from Russia. I saw a ‘trained analyst’ employed by the government who said ‘it’s really not that much.’ (Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of American riggers and drillers and companies driven out of business by the Biden Administration when he clamped down on domestic production.)
Oil and gas are not included in any of sanctions imposed by the United States.
Okay – so $121,324,000 more or less is transferred from the United States from Russia each day.
Four days ago it was reported that the United States sent $350,000,000 (350 million) in weapons to Ukraine.
During those same four days potentially $485,368,00 (about 485 million and a third) was sent to Russia for petroleum and finished petroleum goods.
That’s $135,368,000 more than Ukraine.
If we extrapolate just 30 days (not counting the past) then $3,640,260,000 (more than 3 ½ billion) will be transferred to Russia.
They can afford to send you their yachts, titles to their luxury departments and private jets
One tenth of each tank of gas in the USA from Russia. More or less. Even if it was 1 percent it’s too much. Don’t you think?
